Where we work
From Victorian terraces in Fulham to lateral apartments in Kensington and period houses in Hampstead, we work across West, Central, North and South London. Each area page explains the property types we work on there and the projects we've completed nearby.
Ashfenn & Vale is a residential renovation and refurbishment company working across London. We carry out full house renovations, flat and apartment refurbishments, kitchen and bathroom renovations, structural alterations, extensions, loft conversions and basement conversions — as a single, fully managed service.
Much of our work is in London's period housing stock: Victorian and Edwardian terraces, mansion-block apartments and listed or conservation-area properties. These buildings reward careful renovation — original proportions, cornicing and joinery preserved or reinstated, alongside modern services, insulation, and layouts reworked for how families actually live. Our team understands the practical realities: party wall agreements, conservation-area constraints, planning permission and building regulations approval.
As a design & build company, we take responsibility for the whole process. Design and specification, detailed quotation, programme planning, construction, bespoke joinery, plumbing and electrical works, decorating and finishing are coordinated by one team, with one point of contact and one accountable programme. That removes the most common source of stress in a renovation: the gap between what was designed and what gets built.
We work throughout West, Central, North and South London — including Kensington, Chelsea, Fulham, Notting Hill, Hampstead, Wandsworth, Richmond and Islington. If you are planning a substantial renovation or refurbishment, book a consultation and we'll walk you through scope, budget and programme.
Costs vary with the size and condition of the property, the scope of structural work and the level of finish. Rather than quote a misleading average, we provide an itemised, fixed-scope quotation after a site assessment. Our cost guide in Insights explains the main cost drivers for London renovations.
A typical full renovation runs several months on site, plus design and planning time beforehand. We agree a written programme before work starts and report progress against it weekly.
Many internal renovations fall under permitted development, but extensions, lofts, basements and work to listed or conservation-area properties often require consent. We advise on this at the design stage and manage applications where needed.
